The design of the complex is based on the architecture and proportional systems of the
Alhambra in Granada, Spain, with references to Dutch fortresses in the area – an unusual
commission in which the designer’s role as interpreter is highlighted.

Covering some 87,000 sq. ft., the complex with its commanding views, courtyards and pavilion-like
buildings, is set into terraced gardens and patios that gradually give way to the rugged natural landscape.
